Our Work

Our Work

We focus on improving livelihoods, advocating for health rights, and addressing climate challenges.

1) Livelihoods Improvement

Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)

We enable potential entrepreneurs to simulate business operations and promote the creation of decent work and employment opportunities in Kenya and the region.

We deliver the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Programme, a global business management training programme developed by the International Labour Organization (ILO). This includes related Business Development packages such as:

  • Generate Your Business Idea (GYBI)
  • Start Your Business (SYB)
  • Improve Your Business (IYB)
  • GET Ahead Package
  • Improve Your Exhibition Skills
  • Expand Your Business (EYB)
  • SIYB Business Game

Additionally, we offer Business Development services (BDS), entrepreneurship training, business coaching, mentorship, evaluations, and impact assessments in Kenya and the region using SIYB methodologies.

2) Health

Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights

We advocate for reproductive rights, ensuring access to healthcare and informed decision-making regarding contraception, family planning, and safe abortion.

The objectives of our Reproductive Rights Project include:

  • Raising awareness about reproductive rights and their societal importance.
  • Advocating for comprehensive sexual education programs.
  • Promoting the availability and affordability of contraception methods.
  • Supporting access to safe and legal abortion services where permitted by law.
  • Addressing social, cultural, and legal barriers to reproductive rights.
  • Engaging with policymakers and healthcare providers to promote reproductive rights.

3) Climate Action

Climate Justice and Restoration of Degraded Farmlands

We work with smallholder farmers in Kenya, especially in the Lake Victoria Basin, to restore degraded agricultural land into thriving Forest Gardens. Our training helps farmers plant nitrogen-fixing trees, high-value crops, and timber trees to improve soil health, productivity, and biodiversity.

Our innovative approach benefits farmers both economically and socially while creating environmental co-benefits through soil revitalization and carbon sequestration.

Green Jobs and Financing

We ensure financial sustainability by linking enterprises with financial institutions such as Imarika and KCB, tailoring products to meet their specific needs. SACCOs have been established to cultivate a saving culture and help build financial resilience. Over Ksh. 4 million has been disbursed as seed money, and our waste management interventions have created 200 green jobs for youth in the waste value chain.
